There are 2 screws holding a bracket that goes over the pin holding the treadle on. You can tighten them if they aren't all the way tight already. If they are, you can push the pin out, unscrew the 2 screws, bend the brace flatter and put it back together.
Also the white pressure brace holding the straight gear to the pot gear can be tightened sometimes by loosing the screw, pushing it against the straight gear as much as you can and then tighten the screw. Doing both of these should get it tight again. |

Vox's will. I have a few right now and they all do.
I think a lot of it has to do with the tension on the brace holding the pin, the pressure on the straight gear and how easy the pot itself turns. Some pots are really easy to turn and some are a lot harder. |

You shouldn't have done that. There are very few uses for WD-40 in electronics. If you truly want to fix it, you now must completely disassemble the wah and wash all the parts and case in non-residue solvent to remove the cursed WD-40. You might get away with using non-residue tuner wash and a rag. Right now you have oil everywhere. All you needed to do is tighten the rack gear tensioner. It's usually just a nylon loop with on screw in it that presses against the rack gear. But if you slicked everything up with oil it will never work right.

If anything, a small amount of white grease would have worked. or even graphite powder. WD 40 is impossible to keep contained to a small area. It runs and drips on everything.
