we love rats!

can anyone explain to me what a vintage rat sounds like compared to a rat 2. i already have an old rat 2, a keeley rat and a new rat 2 (which sound awful by the way - do not buy new rat 2's). but ive never tried a vintage rat. would love to know what they are like. i could have searched this site...but i didnt. and when is this site going to updated!?

I just posted some clips in the 'Recording Gear' section using nothing but a vintage Rat and an amp. You might want to check those out, the name of the post is 'more clip action' or something like that.

I gave the Maverick to nyrkickazz1, and man, I miss that amp. IT SURVIVED! I have it back now.

Other stuff: a Ric 360/12 in baby blue; an '83 MIJ Squier P-bass; a Martin HD-28V; and now I have a Mesa Mark IV long head too.

Vintage Rats are amazing! I dislike the sound of proco's other models. The vintage rat is amazing though, i play one through a slightly distorted amp, and it's a great sound. They work very well with valve amps. Pleanty of distortion, and they become quite fuzzy if you increase the gain.
