What will I be losing..... (delay experts)

What would I lose (if anything) by selling my Digidelay and replacing it with a DD-20?

I'm thinking the extra delay types, more delay time, presets and looping capabilities for not too much extra cash would be very cool, but what would I be sacrificing?

Pedalboard real estate at least, but I've never used a DD-20 so I can't compare the presets to my old Digidelay.

100 views and noone can give em a quick answer?

I know the answer is probably somewhere in the archive, but search digidelay or DD-20 and you have 10,000 posts.

Come on you delay gurus....

You lose maybe 1 or 2 cool glitchy noisemaker tricks, but for what you gain, it's not even worth blinking. Ideally have both, but the DD-20 is amazing, rantrantrant, get it.

the biggest thing you would lose is having multiple delays. I don't know if you've had multiple delay's before, but it is a powerful thing.

one long time, short repeat, one short time long repeat, blah blah blah

seriously. it's just powerful to have 2 delays as oppossed to one.

IMO the dd-20 is a really great glitch-machine, so don't you worry about that.

Oh I agree, in fact I couldn't agree more - I use mine for glitch stuff all the time, and the effect of tweaking the time knob on all modes is one the big selling points, I think. It's just unique little things that the digidelay can do, but then most delays have at least one unique redeeming feature... Generally...

I've got both the digi delay and the dd20 and the dd20 will do everything the digidelay does and then some. the only real things you would be sacrificing as people have said are space and having two delays.

Are you saying that in reference to the dd-20 or against the dd-20 cause the dd-20 has a dual delay mode where you can use a short and long delay together.

I havnt used the other pedal you have but after getting the DD-20 I would never consider having to buy another delay again, this has absolutley everything and then some, some crazy **** on this thing with the warp and twist modes, plus you get the mod delay where it adds chorus onto the repeated notes quite a cool sound, tape delay, sound on sound, and you can even make a whole backing track without even having to play a thing, just twidle the time knob real fast and it starts to make all crazy noises.

it's the ONLY pedal i plugged in right out of the box and was like "wow."

not perfection... but if all pedals were made this well, the world would be a better place.

IMO, And owning both, I like the digidelay better. More...character then the DD-20. if it only had 8+ seconds of delay time.

The DD-20 is cool. I wish I could comment better since I primarily use analog or tube driven/hybrid delays. Not that this is part of the conversation... but the H&K Tube Replex has one of the greatest "dual' delay sounds...
