Wrist issues??

i have been having problems playing guitar ever since my wrist got sprained, i had it checked out by a physio and she said it was fine now and i can go back to playing (that was a year ago), but my technique feels different i cant play as well as before or as fast im just curious if anyone can give me tips on were my hand placement should be on my guitar and judge my technique? i get pain in my wrist and fatigue very quickly and cannot play at the speed i used to? sorry about my ugly fingers lol! also when i bend strings i grip my thumb on the fretboard.

Try moving your thumb to the middle of the back of the neck and keeping your wrist from touching the neck. It'll feel weird, but might give you some more reach and speed after some work.

Only to realize those pedals were hooked up to the bass!

Nothing wrong with cerebro's advice. If you are about to spend a significant amount of time practicing you may as well try and improve your technique.

However,

What you are experiencing is 100% normal for 'returning' players. You need to build up your finesse and your squeeze strength. A rough rule of thumb that seems to hold true is for every day you don't play you go back two. You probably do need to ease back in gently and it may be worthwhile working on your squeeze strength via another exercise. The ball squeeze seems popular
