keithrockshaka is an unknown quantity at this point
wanting that distorted vocal mic sound

can I clip a wire to make it happen? Beta 58
or, will a bullet mic for harmonica do it?

Don't clip any wires.

Most bands these days actually use guitar amp sim plugins to get distorted vocals; just pick one where you can turn the speaker sim off, and you're golden.

And if you're looking for lighter vocal distortion, I love this plugin: http://www.bteaudio.com/software/TSS/TSS.html

Do you want to do it live or in the studio? If you're recording it's easy because you can try any od/dist/fuzz pedal ad see how it goes. Live is trickier because feedback becomes an issue.
Also, it depends on how dirty you want to get. If you want mild dirt and you're a loud singer a Bullet mic can do it - it severely limits the frequency range which helps too and gives it a real midrange bark.

This is a good point: live is trickier. Your best bet live would probably be the Placid Audio Copperphone (I know of a couple people who use them live, and apparently you can get excellent gain before feedback with them, something that isn't always true of bullet mics).
