Arrow 2010 Member Board Pics

Here's my rig

I've also got a vintage mxr d+ out of board

Now, I'm going to change something upon that board, I need something to get sorta detuning effect (like billy corgan on "the future embrace") my dd-20 should provide that kind of sound but it doesn't seem to reach the point I'd like to get to (very audible sense of detuning). Should I try with another delay or there's some stomp\rack providing that effect? It would be nice if it could be applied only on the repetitions.

Then I'm struggling about the right distortion to be added to the muff (still not sure about the muff itself though) I'm tryin to get a shoegazey sound from my guitar which is supposed to play along with synths and drum kits, everything very electronic then. Suggestions needed here, also. Shoulda try another fuzz? I'd like a bassy, fuzzy sound.

thx

Well, how much are you willing to shell out? The Eventide Pitchfactor is perhaps the ultimate pedal for shoegazey, ambient stuff: pitch shifting, unison detune, delay, a combination of any of those three, and about thirty more odd effects. It's $400, though. :/

For dirt, I recommend a ZVex Mastotron. It's about $150. It's really bass-y, quite glitchy and fuzzy, and overall a pretty versatile box. The ProTone Monster is terrific as well; I view it almost like a Muff on crack. Sounds like something is breaking.
Do you wanna replace your chorus eventually, or are you just looking for a detune built into a delay?

Well I don't know too much about BIlly Corgan's "The Future Embrace" but the Digitech Whammy has a detune section on it. There's a "shallow" and "deep" detune function. It tends to add a bit of a chorus effect though. As far as adding the detuning on the repetitions. You choose how detuned the signal is by using the whammy pedal so you could manually do it on the repetitions by just rocking the pedal forward but I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

What are some examples of the distortion you want?

the budget is 150$ x pedal max.

I'm almost ok with my chorus, the detuning effect I want is better if only on the repetitions, so better into a delay. I'll give a check to the zvex mastotron

Your first box is that TU-2 and frankly like most boss pedals it's gonna eat some tone. The Korg pitchblack is a much better tuner and true bypass. I take it you are using the Digitech as a slight delay or echo. The DD20 is a fine delay. Love mine.
For detuned you might wanna try the DIgitech whammy. It seems to find a spot on many pro boards. Vai, Satriani...etc.etc

Well, Electroharmonix Memory Boy has built in vibrato/chorus on the repeats... for $100, it's extremely reasonable for an analog delay. Check that guy out; you can get some insanely weird tones out of it.

The Fuzz Faztory is a great pedal. I'm not sure how well it will play with the Muff, I recommend putting it early in your chain because it will amplify any noise in your signal. That being said it is the wackiest weirdest fuzz tone ever. To stack with a Big Muff I always like using a Proco Rat or something smooth like a Boss SD-1 or BD-1.

The Memory Boy is an incredible pedal especially given it's relatively tiny price tag. It's more extreme setting will give you a detune type feel.

if you were going to invest in a Fuzz Factory, i'd suggest looking into a Red Witch Fuzzgod II. they're very similar, and the Red Witch is infinitely more useable in my opinion. the oscillation is footswitchable, and much easier to control as well.

i definitely second the Memory Boy suggestion. i would've recommended the exact same thing.

+1 to the FZII. Not only is it much more practical than its more famous counterpart, it's just plain more solid.

A little disappointed with it, and the price seems high. I'll give a try to the fuzz factory soon

Ok New pics added in the first post, I ended getting a barely used Memory Man XO for 199 eur. And I'll stick with the Big Muff.

I really like your rig!

I always love simple effective pedal choices.
I also dig the Classic30 and the SG.
