Benn's live/home rig

Guitars (all one step down):
-Ibanez RG1527 Body (pre chips) Headstock
-Jackson DK2M Full guitar, shoes, bag of crisps
-BC Rich speedloader Ironbird (X2N in bridge position) Body Headstock
-BC Rich NJ JR (EMG 81/85 set)

Pedals (signal order)
-Boss Tu2
-Digitech Whammy 4
-Morley Bad Horsie
-MXR block logo Phase 90
-POD XT
-Ibanez DE7

Pedals (not used and for trade/sale)
-Boss HR 2
-Behringer EQ
-Behringer VAMP2
-Dano Pastrami
-Digitech Death Metal

Amp
-Marshall G80rcd

Unused guitars
-Yamaha ERG121
-Epiphone LP100
-Maverick F D Tox
-BC Rich Platinum Bich

Misc
-Dunlop Jazz 3, Black Gold or 2mm Stubby pics
-D'Addario nickleplated 10-52s for 6 string guitars
-D'Addario nickleplated 10-59s for 7 string guitars
-DiMarzio Clip-lok straps for the Ibanez and Jackson
-Dunlop studded leather () straps for the BC Riches

I'd like a bigger/valve amp, but I don't have the room or transport, and very little chance to use one.

Music played: thrash/death metal in the vein of Death, Testament, Megadeth, Nile, Obituary etc

1. There's been a couple of threads before, gone now.

2. I *may* be filling in for a friend's band in coming weeks and I have another project going where I write the music/lyrics.

3. Coming up, but they're quite old

I don't think there's any need for tube here is there?

I don't mean to rain on your GAS Benn but a big loud SS with a POD XT would probably be the way I would go if I was doing the metal thing. It's just so versatile and you're talking loadsa money to get close to the sounds you get now IMHO.

However, transistors don't glow in the dark and that is a shame...

...Cool Rig...

I was thinking of going the Opeth route and running the POD into a tube poweramp to warm it up and help cut through.

I think I showed you this last summer, but it's worth another mention (I think). Looks like a great deal (don't know about UK prices though).

Dig the rig though mang! Just oozes metal.

That looks interesting, I'd probably be paying about £500 for one, not as tempting when I know I can get a Laney head for £400 new.

I really have to steal that Jackson when I move to London this September hehe but no, seriously..apart from the amp, I'd love to make some metal with that rig (but I guess that the amp problem would be solved for me due to the POD )

rock on mate

Ever though of Randal ?

Even * I * have to admit that some of their amps are bloody good, for metal

They are also kinda affordable in SA, so i can assume they UK prices must be OK !!!

What is youir thoughts on them ?

UK made Laneys are cheaper than Chinese made Randalls over here.

I'm hoping for some tax back soon, if I'm correct should be looking at the amp around May.
