Boyrockerkc's Rockin A** Rig with awesome homemade pedalboard

Hey everyone i have finally gotten my rig to where i really want it to be. I thought i would post it as is. It has taken alot of time effort and . . . . money. A special thanks goes out to Motorhead and Screamingdaisy they have both been great help and are two of the most reliable people that post here. Trust whatever they say because their word is invaluable. Thanks guys and here it is . . . . comments and suggestions are great.

Overview of the Whole Rig:

Pedelboard with Pedals:

Pedalboard No Pedals:

My Les Paul:

Amps Closer:

Pedalboard Closer:

The Pedalboard is wood housed in sheetmetal with a plexiglass top. The pedal power is housed under the plexiglass and runs up through it to the pedals. I did all the pedalboard from scratch.
Well thats pretty much it . . . . thanks

I actually dont use the 5150 live but i do use the 5150 cab. The other guitarist in my band actaully uses a 5150. I loved my 5150 until i bought the Cobra it makes the 5150 feel cold.

I play all kinds of music ranging from punk to thrash. I love to play really hard stuff but there is no following for it where i live. There are lots of hot punk chicks though . . . . . and thats what kind of music my band plays. We've been compared as like a heavier Starting Line. I like to play alot of Coheed and Metallica etc.

That's a friggin sweet rig, man, although I have to say I hate you a little bit for having that much great gear at your age. How do you like the Dragon cab with the Cobra head? I use a 1960AV cab with my Cobra, I think the Vintage 30's sound really good with it, although I never tried it with Greenbacks. Also, it says "Sniper GE-7", does that mean a Sniper-modded Boss EQ? If so, how does the Sniper mod change it?

Mmmm nice amps.

I'd get rid of the 5150 & Rat to spend the money on "hot punk chicks" but that's just me i guess I like the peda board too. I was thinking of making my own also but then i decided to go with this. It would probably cost me more than that to build my own board
Anyway.
Very nice rig tho. Welcome to guitargeek

Dude, that's one of the great things about being in a band, you don't NEED to spend money on them, they'll usually spend it on you. At least, as I recall from my long-ago single days. For me back in those days, it was hot metal chicks (back then most punk chicks were NOT hot, at least where I lived, the only punk-looking girl I can remember who was hot was the chick from Bow Wow Wow), but the principle is the same.

First of all Thanks . . . . and i new someone would bring the age thing up . . . . but i have actually bought almost everything you see in those pictures with my own money. . . . i started doing Heating and Cooling on new contruction in the 7th grade! 40 hour weeks making jack ****, but i lived with my parents and had no bills so all my money goes towards gear. And i have a hookup at musicians friend and an employee at musicians friend gets everything at musicians friends cost +10% so that made stuff alot easier.

I love it. It sounds awesome. At first i was sceptical but then i realized how ****ty the cables i was using were. So i went and replaced everything with Monster Rocks and Monster 1000 pro studio speaker cable. I have to say i am astonished with what that change did to my tone. It made my notes sustain no kiddig about twice as long and my note definition and clarity really come out.

Also when i bought the amp from BrickhouseMusic they picked the amp up from Framus at NAMM (but it was new not a floor model) and when Framus' lead amp tech finished biasing it he told Tom (from brickhouse) that Framus is seriously thinking about taking the Greenbacks out of the Cobra cab. . . . just a lil food for thought.

It made it quiet so when you stomped it you dont get these harsh overtones. . . . it is practically silent now. . . . other than that i'd say changes were fairly subtle. . . . but i really love this pedal.

Yeah like Fatgraymatt said . . . . the chicks pretty much pay for all your stuff. They will do anything to get a lil closer to you,but **** i dont care.

And i looked at that case and . . . . it would be very hard to build a case for that. MY case cost me $35 but that was just for the glass but the wood was lying around my house and since i work Heating and Cooling the sheetmetal was all cut from large scraps. So i had no cost other than the glass and my own labor.

I am actually thinking of replacing the glass with wood . . . . because the glass is flimsy and hard to lift out. If i do i will put the pedals all on the same way and i'll bore out holes everywhere in the wood so that the green rope light can shine out through them. . . . dunno just a thought

Thanks Motorhead . . . . me having the Cobra is solidly because of you. . . .i would have never even given it a thought. . . . but i love it and the tones it gives me are almost exactly what i was looking for. I say almost because there is no guarantee that there isnt something a little more perfect out there. . . . but if there is i havent heard it yet. But, once again thank you for all the help it is unmatchable and everyone should listen to what you say.

Well, much respect to you then. My rig when I was 16 was worth about $350 all together, $700 at 17 and still under $1000 even by the time I was 21, I didn't start getting decent gear until I had taken 4 or 5 years off from playing in a band and started up again at age 28. By then I FINALLY had a little extra cash lying around, and then I discovered G.A.S. and started buying everything I could find. There's no damn happy medium with me, at any given time I had 10 or 12 guitars and 4 or 5 amps, I've finally started cutting the collection down a bit. Now I'm down to 5 or 6 guitars (only 2 that are really stage-worthy) and 2 amps, soon to be just one amp.

When I think about how sh*tty my stuff was back in the day and then see some guy who's still in his teens whose Mommy bought him 5 to 10 Grand worth of gear it just makes me insane. It's jealous and small-minded of me I know, but what can I do? If you've been doing that kind of work since 7th grade though, you've definitely earned and deserve a Cobra or whatever else you want, I used to do heating and cooling when I was in high school too, that's hard work, spending time up on a roof during the summer where I live (115 degrees at that time of year) is no picnic. The skills you learned doing that seem to have served you well in making that pedalboard, that's a nice job, dude!
