Doingtheunstuck rig post v2.0

Decided my old rig post was insanely out of date and that I should just to start fresh. Closed the old thread and here's the new one.

Guitars

Bastard Pic
-Old Roland strat-style guitar that someone chopped up a lot. I love it.
-Strung with a D'Addario .013-.056 set
-Tuned to Bb Standard
POST Pic
-Saga T-style guitar, originally belonged to nyrkickazz1. He bought it, finished it, assembled it and then never set it up to playing condition.
-Strung with a D'Addario .011-.049 set
-Tuned to E Standard most of the time
Strat
-Squier strat. Kind of crappy, but I still kind of like it.
-Strung with a D'Addario .011-.049 set, minus the high e
-E Standard w/o the high e
Jay Turser BB-Hawk
-I think that is the model name... I can't remember. 25" scale, H/H/H, sparkly... I gave it to my girlfriend, but, as I live with her, it's still easily accessed.
-Strung with a D'Addario .011-.049 set
-Tuned to E Standard

Effects/Pedals/whatever

Alesis Microverb III: Gave it to my girlfriend, but again, I'm living with her. Decent little 'verb unit, cool sound when you clip it. Pretty much never use it.
Alesis Philtre (modded): Hasn't arrived yet. Essentially, it's been modded by Colin, aka Experimentalists Anonymous. I'll say more about it when I get it... if I remember.
Behringer VD-1: I love Behringer. They make a clone of a "Big Muff" and name it "VD." Awesome. Simply awesome. It's also a pretty decent Muff... A bit of bleed through on the bypass, but otherwise perfect.
Bespeco volume pedal (VM 12-L): Basic volume pedal. Served me well.
Boss DD-20: Flexible and up to 23 seconds of delay, which I have found quite useful. It hasn't been in my rig lately because... I just haven't felt like having it there. I have my issues with it, but it's a cool unit. Definitely fun for noisy **** too.
Dano Chili Dog octave: Boss OC-2 clone. Cool pedal.
Dano Tuna Melt tremelo: Good trem. Better than a TR-2 by far.
Digitech PDS1002: Awesome little delay with a hold function. It was my first delay pedal after I picked up guitar and I really like it.
Digitech PDS1002: Yup, I have two. My new one is a bit nicer looking, less beat up and with better switches. I wanted to get rid of my Static Egg and wasn't finding much interest until someone local offered to trade a PDS1002 for it. I said **** it.
Digitech PDS8000: 250CAD well spent. It included the original paperwork, box and was in ****ing perfect condition. This thing is a legend and for good reason.
Ernie Ball VPjr: Solid, awesome volume pedal. Unlike the Bespeco, it only goes silent when pulled ALL the way back. Really smooth sweep and I don't see it breaking any time soon.
DOD FX-90: Nice analog delay, especially for the price. It spends a lot of time in my signal chain.
homemade bypass/feedback box: Don't use it much. Basic little box that can operate as either a bypass box or feedback loop... two switches and one knob. It was made with the idea of being operated by hand more than foot.
Ibanez CM-5: I <3 Soundtank gain units... At least, most of the ones I've tried. This thing is pretty thick sounding. The tone knob thins it out as you turn it to the left.
Ibanez BN-5: This is my primary gain unit. Stupid amounts of bass with the level & dist cranked... Good tone for cutting through a lot of delay and such with the gain lowered.
Moog MF-102 Ring Mod: Haven't received it yet, but I've toyed with one on several occasions. I love ring mod and this thing is a beast. I'm looking forward to picking up more Moogerfoogers to match up with the control processor.
MXR flanger: It's not an ADA, but it's better than most others out there.
Yamaha Magicstomp: Haven't received it yet, but I figured it'd be a nice box for when I randomly decided I needed an 8-tap delay or something similar.
Zoom 505 II: This pedal has served me well. Decent, albeit limited delays & reverbs... I have probably used every single effect on it at one point in my music.
Zoom G2: Technically my girlfriend's, but it just lays around here. Really cool unit, kills the 505.

Amp ****

Traynor YCV-40
-Upgraded the speaker to an Eminence V30 clone
-Busted. Essentially, it got ran without a load, shot sparks. Traynor suggested that it will be an easy fix, IE, not the output tranny... I'll probably either move it as broken eventually or get it repaired when I have extra money laying around.
-It was a cool amp. The tone of the gain channel dimed was actually pretty nice... Also, good spring reverb
Epiphone Valve Junior Head Pic
-Cool. Basic. Awesome. And for those who don't know, 5 watts is still damned loud.
Oldschool Traynor 1x15 Pic
-Haven't gotten around to checking what speaker is in it. Might be original, might not. Still sounds good.
-Someone prior to the previous owner covered the original grill clothe with the dopey flowery print. I kind of like it now that I've had it for a while.
-This thing really opened up the Epiphone, especially with humbuckers. I just wish I could run the Epiphone without the attenuator and crank it.
Weber LPLD attenuator:
-First off, not impressed by the service. Ted Weber was always quick to respond to emails, but he usually didn't answer my questions decently. He uses too many words that don't mean nearly enough when describing things. Also, I told them to ship it to my parent's place in the states so that I could just slip it by the border without duty. They shipped it here, costing me more money. And THEN, they tried to get me to pay them extra to make up for shipping charges. Did not impress me...
-Does it work? Yeah. I can crank my Epiphone and it also worked good with the YCV-40.
-Unfortunately though, it also has a huge impact on the tone. It wasn't too bad with the Traynor, that is, it had a big effect, but it sounded okay. With the Epiphone, it takes away a lot of the sparkle & balls from the tone.

Other ****

Casio SK-1: Unbent as of yet. Fun to **** around with.
Line 6 Guitar Port: Works okay for running into my computer to use VSTs. Not great, but definitely not bad. Will be replaced with a nicer I/O box when I buy a new computer.
Shure SM-57: Shouldn't have to say anything about this one...
Picks: I use a small variety of picks now, which includes Ice Pix (thin copper, thick brass, thin steel, thick steel), Dunlop Big Stubbies 3.0mm and misc other random picks that I find.
Piranha Guitar Bow: Weird little thing. Doesn't do good sustained bow sounds, or at least, I can't make it do that. Still, it's fun as an alternative to a pick. The rosin it comes with sucks though.
Cheap violin bow: My girlfriend's old bow. It works.
Pop's bass rosin: Best rosin I've found for using on guitar strings.

**** I used to own

Alesis Philtre: Moved it for some cash because I wasn't using it enough.
Boss BR8 recorder: Meh. I prefer using my computer.
Boss OD-20: Cool and flexible, but it sounded WEIRD as notes started to die out. Thus, I got rid of it.
Boss PS-3: Cool unit, but I'm weird about pitchshifting. I wasn't using it, so I moved it.
Boss SE-50: Really really good unit for the price, but I hate menus.
Dano Grilled Cheese: Essentially, it's a dirt box mixed with a bandpass filter. I liked the sound of it, but it overlapped with my Ibanez CD-5.
Dano Milkshake chorus: Decent chorus. Ran out of uses for it.
Dano T-Bone: ****ty ****ty dirt box. Digitech Turbo Flange: Cool for step sounds, mediocre for others.
DOD FX-76 Punkifier: First, an explanation of what it does... Essentially, it's got an extreme fuzz and a more usual OD/dist box inside of it. The knob on the left blends between them, the second knob is the gain knob for the OD/dist, the third knob is a pretty extreme treble bleed and the final knob is output. It was cool, but it didn't nail the tone I was after and then I just didn't use it.
Holowon Static Egg: This is the pedal I was aiming at mimicking with the Punkifier. Really really nice sounding weird fuzz. I really loved it on its lower gain settings and ****ed around with it a lot. I never got it to fit in my music though, so it got passed on. Still, it was fun to do fuzzed out JAMC-esque Gin Blossoms covers.
Ibanez CD-5: Gain + bandpass filter. More flexible than the Dano.
Ibanez SP-5: Cool, lower gain dirt box. Would've sounded better with a tube amp.
Ibanez WD-7 wah: Really flexible, but hard to actually nail a decent, "normal" wah tone. Decided I didn't need it, so I passed it on.
M-Audio 49e MIDI keyboard: Used it to control softsynths, moved it when I decided I hated the way the keys felt.
Yamaha Expression Pedal: Bought it to control my old PS-3, moved it when I sold that. I kind of wish I still had it now.
Zoom 507: Great for more subtle and usual reverb uses. Didn't do what I needed, so I moved it.

I think that's about it though. I have no consistent chain to show or else I would. There's a chance I might have more **** laying around... I don't think so, but if I find anything, I'll update. I might also add a list of all of the VSTs I use and might go nuts with pictures of everything.

I love your rig, it's so full of personality, especially the guitars and the amp setup. Very cool.

Yeah, once the Magicstomp, Philtre and ring mod arrive, I'll probably hook up a rig of everything (or at least... most of it), toy around with it and take some pictures.

Rosin

It's the stuff that makes bows stick to the strings enough to cause them to vibrate, essentially.

Thanks for the compliment and the ring mod, man. Wish I could've got it from someone who just decided they didn't like it or something, as opposed to someone who loved it, but had to sell it.

I like the choice of cheap and expensive gear. Whatever works. And I have to try out that rosin. I'm hating the one I'm using.

I'm guessing you like the Valve Jr through the 1x15. I've been thinking about doing something like that because the little 8" speaker in the combo farts out on me if I get too bassy....and since I like to get too bassy, it farts out on me a lot...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it with the Valve Jr. I've played the combos and I used to also run my Valve Jr head into a 12" Eminence v30 knockoff... It sounded okay with the little 8" in the combo and it didn't sound half bad through the Eminence... Into the 1x15 though, it sounds like ****ing god. It also opened it up a lot with humbuckers... I can finally the neck humbucker with the tone rolled down on my low tuned guitar
