Help getting best sound with my gear.

Hi there people. Here is my gear first off.

Ibanez RG370dxz with ALX EMG bridge pickup

Epiphone SG with 2 Seymour Duncan Invader pickups

Line 6 Spider amp 75 watt.

RP90 Multi-effects pedal (used mostly for distortion)

Boss Power Stack

Boss Super overdrive.

I want a Clear, Heavy sound but i'm not sure how to describe the sound I want. Think A7x, Bullet for my Valentine, Children of Bodom, guitar sounding. Any of the 3 will work. My sound right now sounds alright but it sounds... I guess you can say "Artificial and not natural. I think its mostly due to my modeling amp but not sure but all I have to work with. I want A lot of clarity and aggressiveness with my tone for both riffing and solos. So I need help figuring out which order to plug my gear into for the best sound and how to set them up. Thanks in advance guys!

I do not care much for Line 6 or modeling amps in general. That said, it's a personal thing and I have heard people sound really good using them. Do you have the foot pedal (the good one with the expression pedal) that goes with the amp? I would try ditching everything else and spend some time tweaking the preset parameters and using the factory footswitch. Using an OD on this amp IMHO will be awful and the amp should have nearly infinite control over several distortion presets. It is not something you will do on 10 minutes. Start with the factory presets and go from there until you get what you want. The advantage is, that when you are done, you can get a very similar sound at different volume levels.

I have tweaked around with it for months and I have a pretty decent sound, but it just sounds fake. It doesn't sound natural and it sounds very bland. I want a tube amp but not sure what will be good for the style I want or that will work well WITH my pedals. If I use only my pedals and not my amp, it sounds just fine but that's only if I use Headphones sadly... -__-

Even if you have gazillions of dollars to commit to the project you will be much better served using the tools you have to achieve what you need.

You haven't mentioned the context of your gear usage. Are you playing with other people? The sort of guitar sounds you are trying to emulate always sound false and anemic when played in isolation. Have a listen to the acts you recommend and pay attention to passages where there is only a single guitar.

Context is vital because when playing with another guitarist you have to try to compliment each other's use of the sound spectrum. How you craft your sound for isolated play can be a very poor choice when playing with another guitarist (or other instruments). I would never use the amount of prescence and treble I do on stage in an isolated setting.

tl;dr Use the tools you have (what olddawg said)
