Hairy Chris's simple rig. Now with pics!

Right! Post number 1....!! Enjoy.

Jackson Professional Fusion w/DiMarzio ToneZone in Bridge (primary)
Jackson USA DR-2 Dinky Reverse w/SD Screamin' Demon in Bridge
->
Boss Chromatic Tuner
->
Boss NS-2
->
Mesa Dual Rectifier, 3 Channel
->
Marshall JCM 800 4x12 Cab

I use a variety of cables (Pirahna, Planet Waves, Sound Control), Jim Dunlop Tortex 1mm picks, Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings. All guitars tuned E-E.

This is my regular rig for rehearsal/gig. I also have the following bits & pieces that I get out occasionally:

Jackson USA Soloist bolt-on from 1990 (broken at the mo)
Tanglewood accoustic (dunno the exact model)
Boss GT-3 (home use only)
Marshall JCM 900 100w head (backup)
Marshall Shredmaster (I use this as a backup - nice pedal)
Jim Dunlop Crybaby Original
Boss Pitch-Shifter/Harmonizer
Audio Technica True Diversity UHF (broken PSU, but usually leant to band's bass player!)

There we are. I play for a pretty aggressive metal band, so the rig is set to reflect that.

I'm on the lookout for a Mesa 4x12 at the moment, so I imagine that this rig will change in the next few months.

EDIT: I have posted pics on page 2 of the thread. Also have acquired a Blackmachine B2 but more on that further down!

Update 1: I forgot about a Mesa V-Twin that I have lying around. I blew it up a while back & need to get it fixed. Running theme, here.

Update 2: I have just ordered a Tone-Jam 'Sniper' modded GE-7 EQ. Bring on the boost! Will update when it arrives.

Cheers! It's just unfortunate that I break things, really!

I was on the lookout for an EQ, and found that these modded babies only costed £20 - £30 (€35 - €55) more then a standard one! £90 including delivery = Cant wait to hear it through my Mesa...

Been a while. I know I have posted no pics of the rest of my stuff, but I do have a new addition:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...h/P9180001.jpg

&*^% curtain alert. I'm renting!!!

Carvin 727 (with acoustic & Jackson Fusion - I hope you like the strap! - behind. Rest of rig @ studio). Pretty stock - rock maple thru-neck, trans green finish, coil tap, phase switch, ebony fingerboard, etc, etc. eBayed for way less then I should have paid for a showroom condition guitar.

One of the best built guitars I have ever played - I cannot recommend Carvin enough! Plays well, and sounds really nice - plenty of mids & top along with the low B.

I really need to get photos of my other rubbish.

Hahahaha, is that the leopard skin strap that you're talkin about? THAT'S AWESOME! It's so hot, especially on such a metal guitar Seriously, I love it!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the Carvin? And where did you get it?

Right, I've not been here a while.

Carvin was on eBay from the US. Cost me about £450 or so, including postage. Nice bloke who collected Carvins - it's in showroom condition!

My band's other guitarist got the same model, nicer (blue) colour, rectangular inlays & active electronics for about the same, although it had a few dings.

Lovely guitars, especially seeing that 2nd hand ESPs were going for around the same price!

Good choice going with the Boss. An EH pedal would probably just scratch the guy.

Just a quick one.

1) I have now got my pedals, channel switcher and wireless fitted into a SKB pedalboard + 3U rack combo. It's a bit plasticy but solid with the lid on. Makes setting up dead quick. Yay!

2) Trying to do a deal on a handbuilt beast at the moment. If this comes off I will be selling my Dinky, Soloist, Carvin, and some other crap to cover it. I haven't taken the Jacksons out of their cases since I moved in December so I think this may be worthwhile. I'll know more next week...

3) My band are talking to the importers to see what deal we can get on 2 Diezel Herbert heads. Looks like we'll get them for well under the price of a new Dual Rec each.... Oooooh yes.

In a good mood today!
