I absolutely hate EMGs. Other than that, neat rig and serious amp envy. I've been wanting a 2203 since forever.
Clips of the 6×12"?

well, i like converge quite a bit, so between the first act, the prs and the tele i can get pretty much any tone i need. I have no issue with emg's and have used them here and there for years.
nothing recorded with the 6x12, most recording engineers kinda advise against me bringing it, most likely to spare their hearing, it's loud as hell. |

Next time just go to a studio where the engineers aren't wusses. All good recording engineers are half deaf anyways.

yeah, definitely an option.
i like how it sounds much more than most people's standard 4x12's. Secret of it is that it's a very thin cab depth wise. whole story is that it's a 70's fender bassman 2x15 cab that i had redone. tore the tolex off, tore the baffle out, had a new one built from 15 ply birch, the inside is divided into 2 3x12's with another piece of 15 ply birch. as well i made it into a front loaded cab, so the speakers are set in even further than the original 15's were. and then i had it tolexed in bright white hiwatt tolex. the wiring was the biggest pain in the ass though. it's wired up as 2 3x12's. the v30's are 8 ohms each and the 100 watt celestions are 4 ohms. so i have it set up with the 2 v30's in series and having that run in parallel with 1 100 watt. again though it's a monster. I'm considering picking up another cheap bassman cab and making a 2nd one out of the speakers from the basson....though i don't really need it. i am going to be gigging out live with the laney and the marshall running stereo into the cab. need to just figure out how i want to run it. i'm thinking of adding a 2nd volume pedal to my board, running the marshall from the tuner out and being able to fade in and out the laney though the regular out, but i don't really have the room on my board with the dl4.... probably going to just go the ab/y route, thinking a lehle (my board is going to look almost identical to tom keeley's soon haha) influences (by the way): pianos become the teeth, la dispute, touche amore, at the drive in, converge, united nations. as well i have to have my dl4 fixed, and i want to swap out the switches before i destroy them... |

I like your rig! The First Act guitars just say modern hardcore to me! If you're looking for a good AB/Y, might I recommend the Boss LS-2? You could use it as a boost for your amps as well. The buffers are good too, which I'm sure is important to you since you've got those lovely amps and guitars!

Pretty toys. As far as recording 6x12"s... total overkill... But aren't you playing Post-Hardcore? Isn't hardcore about overkill? I say a recording studio where you can blast the **** out of it and get the sound in your head.

small update
the prs is gone, really wasn't what i was hoping for and is much more tuned for rock and metal than what i am doing.
Looking to get in the next week or two a rickenbacker 330, 620, or 650, pretty much whatever pops up within my price range. very inspired by bands like touche amore and pianos become the teeth who are utilizing single coils to their max extent lately. |

ha. yeah well boston isn't exactly post-hardcore central.....
so the band is well....in the works.... my old stuff was We Speak A Dead Language | Free Music, Tour Dates, Photos, Videos but i used a bogner shiva into a marshall or an orange 4x12 with that. and used my other guitarist's tele plus along with my tele (i'm the single coil track, it's a little hard to hear but it's there) Soda you anywhere NEAR boston, i need to find people that have good taste in music. haha |

Unfortunately I'm from North Dakota haha, but I'm actually in Michigan right now because my band is recording our first full length! I was creeping on some of your pictures and it looks like you used to have a Time Factor, why did you get rid of it?

haha, that's actually not me. that was the other guitarist. he kicked me out prior to playing out with the band (which happened for a whopping 1 show....)
i always had the simple rig. i love my dl4, but it's broken and once i get the money back from it i'm buying an m9. i neeeeed delay now.... though the guitarist from touche amore'r rig has me drooling heavily... (hopefully getting a rick 620 soon too) |

I've never checked out his rig before but holy cow it's nuts. I think I'm gonna strip the tolex off of my Mesa cab when I get home!

UPDATE:
PRS is gone I am now the proud owner of a 2005 Rickenbacker 620 Midnight blue. It is amazing. I just need to pick up strap locks for it and get rid of these flatwound strings...haha Soda: nick from ta's pedals EHX Holy Grail, Empress Superdelay, BOSS DC-2 Dimension C, Cusack Tap-A-Whirl, BOSS DM-2 Delay, Blackout Musket Fuzz, ZVEX Lo-Fi Loop Junky fairly ridiculous pedal set up for a band that hasn't recorded a song over 3 minutes long (nothing against that, but what exactly do you need a looper for?) His amp is a verellen (one of the many things on my lust list, though i'll probably never be able to afford it, or at least justify it with the marshall still kicking) and he's playing a pink jaguar..haha |

Awesome rig man. Glad to see someone using Ricks for hardcore. I've seen a lot of stuff online that discourages using Rickenbacker for metal, etc. With the right rig though, they play beautifully. I've played Jackson, fender, gibson, and the 620 has been the best. Enjoy.
