NEED HELP! New Guitar or Amp??
Ok, so I have both a crappy amp, a crappy guitar, and some pretty good pedals.
This is My Setup: -Guitar: Beat up Squier Bullet with a Gibson Faded Flying V stock humbucker in the bridge. -Amp: Fender Frontman 212r (old version) with a broken channel switch. Only works when the footpedal is plugged in. - Pedals: EHX Small Stone, Small Clone, Memory Boy. Dunlop Original Crybaby, and Devi Ever Rocket Fuzz. What I need help deciding, is whether I should buy a new guitar or a new amp? I would like both, of course, but money is a bit tight. The Guitar I am considering is either a Fender Jaguar HH or Jazzmaster. and the amp, a used Fender Twin Reverb. Thanks My Budget is around $1000, probably a bit less. The sounds I'm trying to get are some that are heavy with fuzz, sound great clean, but are also good for noisy experimentation. Also, would a Peavey Valveking be a good amp choice? What's your budget and what is the sound you are going for.
From looking at your pedals and current gear, I would make the following assumptions that you might like these. Fender '72 reissue Telecaster Custom Fender Classic Player Jazzmaster Peavey Classic 30 Vox Ac 15 Fender Blues Jr. |

The Fender Jaguar Classic Player HH is a wonderful guitar and I've always loved mine, but as soon as I got it home and put it through my Fender Frontman, it sounded like any other guitar through the same amp, be it a Squier or a PRS. I only realised what a difference the amp makes when I started playing through Orange Tiny Terrors at high volumes, which kicks the crap out of my Frontman! I think Messy Bedroom is spot on with gear ideas, since he's listed great amps at low prices! I can vouch for the Peavey Classic 30 stack, which I love for it's country cleans and bluesy overdrive!
