redid some of the ideas for updates i want to do to my rig...

my rig wouldn't be as different as it is now. basically, replace my Crate with a Randall RH200 half stack (i was originally going to get the RH100 but this is basically the same thing with twice the power and Musician's Friend is selling it for $50 cheaper. i know, i know. "tubes rule. solid state sucks." well blow me. solid state sounds fine to me.) then add a MXR Smart Gate and a Dunlop Fuzzface to my setup. everything would get powered by my Dunlop DC-Brick (which i just got for christmas today)

i know most of you don't care but i wanted to tell someone and you people would be the only ones who would know what i'm talking about.

Nothing wrong with ss as long as it does what you want. I'm keeping my ss amp in my new rig just because it does things a tube amp can't do.

I know some solid states that sound better than most tube amps. Dimebag Darrell uses solid states and he sounds awesome. Saturated distortion rules. As long as it ain't harsh, it's all good. Hell, even harsh sounds have a place and there are harsh tube amps too.

some of us geeks care.

i tried some randalls in a local rehearsal studio that charges $8 an hour years ago. they have randalls and jcm 900's. i got to the studio late usually, so i'd have to play on the randalls as the other guitarist would take the marshalls.

i was using an ibanez, and that got to be a pretty heavy amp. i also used an eq they had lying around and it wasnt bad. but heavy is just not my sound...

i care as long as you think you'll be happy with it. then there is no better feeling to be able to say 'i love my setup' while not helping but to feel a little against the grain....
