GUITARS:

1982 Epiphone Spirit

This guitar is an odd one. As far as I know its one of the last Epi's to be made in the states (up until just recently with the reissue of the 62' wilshire), and it plays like a Gibson. Its even weirder that it has a Gibson headstock. It also has Gibson T-tops in it.

2001 Squier fretless strat

This was a midnight blue Squier bullet once upon a time. It was my first guitar, so I decided to go wild with it. Ripped the frets out, and then epoxied and sanded down the neck, ripped all paint off, gave it that paint job, had the pickguard cut, and now there is a Dimarzio air zone and air norton in it. It is also wired like a j-bass. just cause.

2008 Ibanez EW20ZWE

Great acoustic-electric. I love this thing.

BOARD:

APRIL 25 2010

TC electronic Polytune - Foxrox Octron - Spaceman Rumblefuzz (22/50) - Spaceman Mercury III (1/30W) - 70's A/DA Flanger - Seppuku Mind Warp - Malekko Ekko 616 - Boss DD-20

AMP:

1968 Ampeg VT-22

POWAAH

I love this thing.

Yeah, thar she blows.

nowadays, it just makes the player psychologically happy. it does nothing at all with a grounded cable (like i have), but without one it changes the positive currents to negative ones to get rid of hum or what have you.

I really dig the fretless Squier. That's a pretty cool idea.

i like my v830 a lot, but stock it is a very bright distortion. it leaves you with no bottom end. it makes the neck in my les paul have the tone of a strat in mid/bridge position or so. in a few weeks im getting it modded to have a knob for a bass boost, that will REALLY improve it's tone. but other than that, its pretty versatile. it can get anywhere from a nice clean boost to really unnecessarily heavy distortion.

when i'm using it with the micro synth i really back down on the gain but have the volume all the way up and tone about half way. it gives it a really nice octavia crunchy tone. but when im not using it with the micro synth volume is typically not on maximum, gain is anywhere past noon and tone is in the middle somewhere and thats pretty heavy at that setting.

i hear its brother, the v810, isnt as trebley, but ive never played one so i can't say for sure. if you ever come across this one, i would say really consider modding it for the bass boost, unless you really like top end distortions, of course.

totally didnt realize someone posted on this. and no, i ended up selling the v830 and got a double muff instead. im now over-satisfied with gain. now i'm running my spaceman rumblefuzz into a double muff, and i have a 1980 distortion + just kicking around that i dont even want.

ill post new pictures of my board when im done with that treadle-tremolo thing i mentioned in another thread. its now completely different. the only thing that i have left from that board is the expression pedal for the RE-20.

I really like how small but still efficient your pedalboard looks like.
What kind of music you play?

Damn, if I didn't need the money I'd make my Squier Strat fretless. That's the coolest idea, and doesn't look as dumb as those stupid mirror fretboard thingies.

Selling BOSS FW-3. I live in Brazil, mind you, so prepare yourself for $30-ish for shipping and waiting. Local pickup available, along with beautiful beaches and cheap bitches.

thats what i always try to do with my pedalboard. i always thought i could save myself some money if i got just a couple of really good, high dollar pedals and not have 500 dollars of junk that doesnt really maintain its value.

and i play in a band called MINGI (its the plural of charles mingus), and its like a mix of yes/king crimson/lightning bolt/the boredoms.

once i get some formalized recordings, i will definitely put a link up for you guys.

All Epiphones were made in the U.S. until the early 70s. Epiphone was a much better guitar than a Gibson, and unable to compete with the high quality, Gibson bought the in 1957, and tarnished their name by making them their downmarket guitar. The last Epiphones made in the U.S. were made in the early 80s.

All amps had polarity switches until the 3 prong plug became common. You don't understand the importance of these until about the 100th time you get zapped by one set the wrong way. I replace all my old 2 prong plugs with 3 prong ones.
