My band's first song
Hey,
This is my band's first song, it was recorded on an old tape deck at our first practise about a month or so ago. Therefore the sound quality is very poor. This recording doesn't have bass or drums because we had enough trouble getting the two guitars and vocals to come out let alone anything else. We run the vocals through a Big Muff to give them a distorted, muffled effect but as a result they came out poor on the recording. Anyway, thought you guys could have a listen and give some feedback. Guitars are Fender Telecasters and Stratocasters into Carvin Steve Vai Legacy amps. Only pedal used was a Boss Super Overdrive. We plan to have it recorded professionally at the end of the year after we have a few more songs. Anyway, here it is. It's called Expectation Expectation

well the guitar sure sounds like the strokes i can see your inspiration from your name...the vocals arnt powerful enough it seems...liek hes whispering them and crying...really emo sounding...id say put some backup vocals in harmony on some of it to add more chunk to the lyrics then boost the volume on the main singer and itll be a good emo/indie song...
Good job

Some brand called 'Silver' or something, not sure. It's really old and crappy, we had to throw a towel over it to try and prevent to much distortion.
Can anyone reccomend any effects. We're pretty much unlimited as far as effects go as the other guitarit's uncle owns a leading music store in South Australia. I was thinking maybe some chorus for the bass and maybe a bit of delay with a DD-5 for the guitar, but not sure.

Yeh we don't really but since joining this forum I've become a real gear geek, I love effects
I'm a big Joy Division fan, that's why I had the idea of chorus for the bass but yeh apart from that I can't really think of anything. Maybe a bit of delay or reverb like you said.
