Publishing my music on web
Hi guys... what do you think about putting music on websites for free? I was thinking to have my mp3 songs on my website to let everyone download them...
What do you think? Should I do it or should I not? Should I stay or should I go? [... sorry can't resist to make this bad joke ...]I usually record something then and now, and I was thinking that I could let everyone listen to it through mp3 instead of let my music stand on my hard disk forever... I don't care about money and stuff... So what should I do? Thank you guys... BTW: I mostly play very hard metal (S.O.A.D., Korn, stuff like that), but I usually write and record stuff most similiar to new Radiohead or Mogwai, mainly instrumental ('cuz I can't sing).

if you're not concerned about making money off your songs, or people potentially copying them for themselves go for it.
might be more things to consider... but it could be helpful too, since there are more people to critique your music that wouldn't mind being truthful. |

These sites will stream your music:
Purevolume Soundclick MySpace I'm sure there are several others, but those are the ones I'm familiar with. You can choose to just stream them I believe on all sites, that way people can hear your music and not have an actual copy. However giving out mp3's can also help spread the word about your music. It comes down to whatever you think is the better option.

Thanks for your tips... I like those website and I think I'll subscribe one of them.
Anyway, how could I be sure about no one copying my music? Is the fact that I posted my MP3s on a website assuring me that it's actually mine?

Ok, I'm done!
I'm on PureVolume, and as soon as possible I'll have my page adress in my signature. Anyway... Thank you
