yeah i know what you mean...
but point blank, what album would the song be from??? lets see here.. Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory) #1-2 (#1 is the intro to numder 2) System of a Down (Toxicity, Steal This Album, Mezmerize, and Hypnotize) in order. # 3 # 6 # 8 # 2 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ that's about it.i differ from day to day. i have more, but it would take up too much room...and i know that you said "one song" but for me it's "from what album???" so there you go.

1. Simple Plan - I'd Do Anything
Not a fan of the band or the music really... but I'd be so rich right now.

Lots of pop music, like "Always On My Mind" by Phantom Planet or maybe Britney's "Toxic". I always struggle to get a hook into a song, so (good) pop music fascinates me.

"Red" by King Crimson
There's no way I'm ever going to be able to write something like that. "Eruption" by Eddie Van Halen. Others may do it faster and cleaner, but he did it first and spawned the wannabes.

Maybe when I get out of my hair metal phase, I might begin to attempt something like that.

Stairway to Heaven, for obvious reasons. It's probbably the cheesiet song to pick, but it is the best song ever. And I challenge anybody to write a better solo.

Outsiders - "Start Over" and/or "Break Free"
Otherwise, just about everything Jason Molina has ever written. Unfortunately, I just can't play any of that sort of stuff.

ooo, i've often pondered this very question.
i'd probably have to go wtih either: 1. miss july '75 - the brian jonestown massacre or 2. Dazed and Confused - Led Zeppelin (not the cd version, but the one that appears on 'the song remains the same' (and not the one from the soundtrack, but the actual dvd.. they're slightly different))
