DOD has produced a few models of their Stereo Flanger over the years. You'll run across the older 3 knobbed FX-75, the 4 knobbed FX-75B, and the newer FX-75C. The older models were plagued by a flighty footswitches and a understated sweep that, although unique, left more than a few flange fans wanting more. Well, the FX-75C solves all the problems of the earlier models and delivers up all the classic jet plane sounds, death ray vibratos, and clangy choruses you'd expect from a flange. Within minutes we were nailing stuff like the swirly rush of early Van Halen, the haunting shimmer of the Cure, and the drousy drone of The Dandy Warhols. Whether you're running clean or dirty, the DOD has a nice way of coating your signal with its thick and bubbly modulation. It's not going to knock the ADA Flanger off its crown, but is impressive nonetheless. |
