The questionable follow-up to the wonderful mono Boss CE-2 Chorus pedal of the early 80s. This version added a stereo output for what was supposed to make for a more spacious sound. Well, the attempt to rival the Boss CE-2 failed in terms of warm and depth but it's still an decent chorus pedal if you don't mind a bit of a metallic ping added to your sound. I'd say if your tastes run toward a real sterilized 80s new wave guitar sound, this pedal will make your wildest dreams come true. If that perks your interest, why don't you slip into those shiny parachute pants and run to the nearest pawnshop for a blowout price on the CS-3. For you tone purists out there, you may want to pass on this totally 80s device. |
