Boss produced a great chorus effect here that doesn’t destroying tone or suck the low-end life from your precious bass sound. The chorus itself is very warm with just enough bubbly presence to punch things up a bit. Slow and mellow setting add just enough thickness to make you miss it when gone while maximum settings bring out some very subtle flange-isms or warbly sci-fi waves. The low-cut knob does a great job of applying the effect across just the upper registers of your signal. This basically leaves the low end intact for uneffected punchiness. It’s a nice touch, and a setting we ended up going back to as we got more familiar with the unit. From the smooth jazz popping to the full-on assault of someone like Tool, the Boss CEB-3 is a very versatile pedal that should appeal to most player in need of a little more. |
