I’m surprised Rex made it here. I used to listen to Portraits Of Past (best emo band waaay ahead of their time) and still love The Audience lp (you have got to listen to this album). I wonder if one of the rhythm guitarists from the greatest so called “punk” band “The Dead Boys” was an influence. That SG Jr is very similar to what he played. I know he played a SUNN concert lead early on so I suppose a fender sound it was he was going for maybe.

I saw the Vue play twice, but it wasn’t anywhere close to how good the two first bands mentioned sounded.

I’m also surprised to see all the stuff he put in here, seemed more like the bands he played in or whatever was just get up and play? Not soo finicky about your tone like Eric Johnson/Lou Reed or something.

Rex has always been very particular about his tone. He has an amazing ear. I played drums in a band with him in between Portraits of Past and Das Audience and he kept it simple and pure. Fender Super Reverb: Tube Works Overdrive: 64 SG Jr. I always admired that about him.
