Whats to say about the AC30 that hasn’t been said? Its not only one of, if not THE best sounding combo ever made, its also one of the most versatile. The top boost model is particularly wild, no need for a rangemaster there unless you want that nasal characteristic tone that almost have become synonymous with anything AC30. But the AC30 is so much more than Brian May. From jingly jangly 60′s tones to Iggy & the Stooges 72′ish “Raw Power” depending on guitar used (Rickenbacker 360 or Les Paul Custom respectively) and how loud you play the amp. And this amp is loud when cranked…luckily, the dynamics of the amp really lets you play with maximum use of guitar volume and pick attack techniques.

The new models are nice too, much cheaper and better yet: You can buy them in every halfdecent guitar shop (no, probably not the vintage shops) around the globe. But if you can afford the original (remember original transformers and blue or silver bell Celestions) thats the better sounding, where the new one is the one to get if you want a working horse, that won’t be too loud in the small club if you crank it, due to its master vol. Think of it like a 68 Charger vs. new Charger choice. The original is not the practical choice, but it sounds like nothing else
